Winter weather is still trying to keep its grasp on the region, but racing season will prevail!  This weekend may be a bit cooler but make sure you still get out there and support your local short tracks!

This weekend is complicated by threats of rain, but don’t let that hold you back from heading out to the track!  All Friday night racing was cancelled due to rain and wet conditions.  The weather has also adjusted Sandusky Speedway’s schedule, with the Auto Value Super Sprints cancelling their feature.  Sandusky will continue their show with Mods, Street Stocks, and Hobby Stocks.

Sharon Beats Rain to the Checkers

Despite thunderstorms being in the forecast all week for Saturday, sunshine was present for much of the day and the storms held off until well after the completion of the eighth straight racing event at Sharon Speedway. It was a good night to be #27 as the first three feature winners of the night carried the number! And all six winners resides in Trumbull County, Ohio! Weather Cancels Friday Racing at Three Tracks

Due to rain that moved through the area Thursday night and Friday afternoon, three tracks have cancelled Friday night racing.  Attica Raceway Park, 250 Speedway, and Wayne County Speedway all pulled the plug for weekly racing, citing rain and a muddy track.  All three area dirt tracks had scheduled weekly racing, and will not be rescheduled.

Toledo Speedway, which is the only asphalt track running tonight, has continued on with racing.  The track hosts the ARCA Gold Cup late model series tonight for the Hollywood Casino 100.

Weller Wins First Sharon Big-Block Mods Race Since 2010

For the second straight week, Sharon Speedway was blessed with a beautiful sunny, 70-degree spring day. Celebrating in the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply victory lane on Saturday night were Jim Weller, Jr.-Governor Insurance DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Dennis Lunger, Jr.-Barris Supply RUSH Late Models, Joel Watson-Summit Racing Equipment Modifieds, Bryan Wagner-Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars, Jeremy Double-HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods, and Ken Koby II-Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks.
